Origin:
Once a powerful sorcerer named Keldor, Skeletor’s journey to becoming the feared Lord of Destruction began with his insatiable thirst for power. Keldor was the half-brother of King Randor of Eternia, born of mixed Gar and human heritage, which led to his exclusion and resentment within the royal family. His ambition to claim the throne of Eternia drove him to dark magic and forbidden knowledge.
Transformation:
During a climactic battle for the throne, Keldor attempted to overthrow King Randor but was thwarted by the heroic warriors of Eternia. In a desperate move, Keldor threw a vial of acid at Randor, only for it to be deflected back at him. The acid horribly disfigured Keldor, leaving him on the brink of death. In his desperation, he turned to the dark arts, seeking the aid of Hordak, an evil sorcerer from the dimension of Despondos. Hordak saved Keldor’s life but at a great cost, transforming him into the skull-faced Skeletor.
